I am finding that the best organic skin care products are often the simple ones. Basic organic oils such as almond oil, olive oil, avocado oil are tops on my list. I feel organic avocado oil is a must have for great skin care. Avocado oil is my preferred oil because it is lighter than almond oil or olive oil. Being lighter makes it ideal for day time use, as it does not leave an oily sheen on your skin and absorbs rather quickly. I like avocado oil as a night oil too. In order of lightest to heaviest, I find avocado oil is the lightest, almond oil next and olive oil the heaviest of the three. Heavier oils stay on top of the skin the longest leaving the skin very oily looking and also as a night treatment they can get into your pillow cases and sheets etc. and be tough to wash out.
Another thing I have noticed is that combining oils seems to lead to better results in terms of overall skin refinement, like pore refinment and line reduction. I will often use avocado oil for extended periods of time and them switch to almond for awhile. I feel making the switch improves my overall skin texture and appearance. I do not use olive oil very often any more. The heaviness of the oil makes it difficult to use. I am going to start combining oils and see how well they work. I think 70% avocado oil with 20% Almond oil and 10% olive oil would be a good combination. I am going to try sunflower oil soon. I have tried flax seed oil but it will stain clothing so it is not a suitable oil for normal day use but could be good for special treatments.
