Our hands are the first to show signs of aging. They are constantly exposed to all sorts of chemicals and elements. Being constantly exposed to the sun everyday can cause a photo-aging effect on our skin. Photo-aging refers to the damage that is done to the skin from prolonged exposure to UV radiation. Examples of photo-aging skin, dark spots, wrinkles, leathery skin, and skin cancer.
Most of us (Men & Woman) spend a great deal of time and money on anti-aging products and treatments for our faces and hair, but do we really take the time to care for our hands?
Here are a few things that we can do to protect our hands.
1. Exfoliate – 1 teaspoon of sugar combined with coconut oil, makes a great one.
2. Sun Screen – Wear Sun Screen all year long, even in the winter months, and make sure its Paba free.
3. Moisturize-Always keep your hands moisturized.
Whenever you do the dishes, or exposing your hands to a lot of water, be sure to wear gloves. Try using a cream like olive oil, coconut oil or Shea butter under your gloves for a moisture treatment.
